How many hours can you drive a minibus for? - 20th April 2009
From April 11, 2007 new government legislation requires businesses, schools, charities and other organisations operating a minibus with 10-17 seats on a commercial basis to fit tachograph equipment to their minibuses to monitor the amount of time drivers’ spend behind the wheel.
The new rules aim to reduce accidents by restricting minibus drivers from spending long periods driving a minibus.
Breaking the rules could result in a fine and potentially invalidate a minibus insurance policy. For more information on which Minibus Operators require tachographs and why these tachograph’s are required for Minibuses visit the government VOSA website.
