Football Club's fund raising to buy minibus - 29th June 2009
Tranmere Rovers Football Club supporters are helping to raise funds for a new minibus to provide transport for community disability football coaching sessions. A ground collection is being held at the club''s ground, Prenton Park, prior to the opening match of the new Coca-Cola League One season, against Leeds United, on Saturday, August 11 (kick-off 3pm).
With help from the Tranmere Rovers in the Community team, a number of fund raising initiatives have already taken place, including the completion of the Wirral Coastal Walk earlier this summer which is expected to eventually raise £7,500.
It is hoped the ground collection will go some way to reaching the total required to purchase the new minibus, which costs about £30,000, which will enable disabled people to fully involve themselves in the football coaching sessions run by Tranmere Rovers In The Community.
